Cover Reveal: Ever After

Ever After (Transplanted Tales #4)

To Catch a Thief…

For centuries, Gideon Montrose has served the King of Fairies without question and, often, without mercy. So when the King orders him to apprehend a notorious thief, Gideon obeys. But when he finally gets his hands on the beautiful culprit, Gideon’s in for a shock.

Arabella Locksley is none other than the spirited, unpredictable woman he knew back in Make Believe as Robin Hood — the love of his life whose tragic death destroyed his chance at Happily Ever After.

Now, he has an impossible choice. Betray the woman he once loved, or the king he’s bound to serve?

About the Author

Kate SeRine (pronounced “serene”) faithfully watched weekend monster movie marathons while growing up, each week hoping that maybe this time the creature du jour would get the girl. But every week she was disappointed. So when she began writing her own stories, Kate vowed that her characters would always have a happily ever after. And, thus, her love for paranormal romance was born.

Kate is the author of the award-winning Transplanted Tales series, available from Kensington Books. She lives in a smallish, quintessentially Midwestern town with her husband and two sons, who share her love of storytelling. She never tires of creating new worlds to share and is even now working on her next project.

Swoon Thursday (8) White Hot Kiss

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme. Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog! I want to know & so do the gals at YABound!

The brush of his lips was tentative at first, an unhurried sweep of his mouth against mine. Every muscle in my body locked up, but I didn't pull away like I should've, and Roth made a low sound deep in his throat that sent shivers down my spine. His lips caressed mine again, nibbling and clinging to them until they parted on a gasp. He deepened the kiss with a thrust of his tongue.

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout Kindle Location 1863

This was Layla's first kiss. Could you imagine if your first kiss was like this? I am only halfway through the book but I am beginning to think every gal needs a Roth in their life.

Waiting on Wednesday (9) Not Your Average Happy Ending

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

When Ash Summerland left the Academy of Magical Beings, he was sure he’d put his troubles behind him. But when his girlfriend, Kendall, is almost killed by an old enemy over something he knows little about, Ash is forced to confront the demons of his past.

With his fairy magic fading and his darker djinn magic more powerful than ever, Ash isn’t sure he can stop the evil from closing in around him. Although Kendall is the only thing keeping him from going over the edge, if he can’t learn to balance out his magic and find a way to defeat his enemies once and for all, both his world, and the girl he loves will be lost forever.

Why I am waiting?

I loved, loved, loved Not Your Average Fairy Tale. I have been waiting since 2012 for this sequel and am excited that it releases next week. Can Ash and Kendall finally be happy? Will he become evil? Will he return to the Academy? So many unanswered questions.

He has a protective nature, one with a strong nose.

I was ready to fight to the death for this wonderful smelling creature. To do everything in my power to keep her from being hurt by the enemy.

He is a gentleman, even when he is grumpy.

We reached Minnie's Diner, and Quinn darted up the steps to open the door for me. it was an unexpected, but nice gesture.

He is scarred- literally.

A nasty scar started at the corner of his left eyebrow, ending at his jaw. The jagged line was darker in color than the tan skin surrounding, puckered, gouged, and making the corner of his droop slightly. It was hideous.

I like that Quinn owns up to his mistakes. I like that he is protective of Pepper. But mostly I like that while he is gorgeous he is also flawed.

Waiting on Wednesday (8) Between

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

When a supernatural freak of nature forces her family to separate, seventeen-year-old Charlie Page must turn to her frustrating (yet gorgeous) neighbor, Seth, to help reunite them. Seth whisks Charlie to Ellauria—a magical world filled with the creatures of myths and legends—and tells her of the Fellowship, the group charged with protecting mystical beings from human discovery. (All except Bigfoot: that attention whore is a total lost cause.) But when Charlie learns that she's under the Fellowship's protection herself, well, "stressed" is an understatement.

Ellauria should be the safest place for Charlie while the Fellowship works to find her family, but things in the mystical realm aren’t what they seem.

Magic is failing, creatures are dying, and the Fellowship insists Charlie holds the key to saving everyone. With her family still missing and the danger in Ellauria growing, Charlie doesn't know who she can trust. She's dealing with a power she never asked for, falling for a guy she can't have, and being forced to choose between her destiny and her heart. And if she chooses wrong, she could destroy magic forever.

Charlie may be in over her head.

Why I am waiting?

The cover is beautiful. The story line is interesting and I am dying to know what her power is.

But hey, this is what I wanted, right? Normalcy? No devilish laughter, no maternal voice in my head telling me what to do. I should be happy.

Forbidden by Lori Adams Kindle Location 878

I am only 15% into this one.  So far, it is really good- although the point of view does jump between the main character Sophia, Michael and Dante.

He is good with little kids.

Jase laughed as his little brother shouted, "Faster! Go faster!

Jase appeased his brother, pushing the tractor so it zigged and zagged to a stop in front of the truck as Jack squealed, clenching the steering wheel.

He knows the way to a girl's heart is through presents.

Through the clear plastic top I could make out a huge, oversized cupcake. I glanced at Jase.

One shoulder went up in a shrug. "Cupcakes are good. Thought I'd be good and share it with you."

He is not afraid to pick a gal up and throw her over his shoulder.  granted she had to deserve it first.

I squealed as Jase hooked an arm around my waist and bent, lifting me over hs shoulder like I weighted nothing more than a sack of sugar.  My bag slipped off my arm, smacking the pavement.  "What are you doing?"

"Standing here discussing your ability to walk over to east campus in this heat makes me really impatient."

There you have it- reasons why Jase is my book boyfriend of the week.  A sneak peek at his kissing abilities can be seen on my Swoon Thursday post for this week.  He is the real deal.

Swoon Thursday (6) Be With Me

Mind reeling and senses spinning, I trembled as he nipped at my lower lip the same way he had at my neck before and then flicked the edge of his tongue over the seam of my lips, coaxing them open. he deepened the kiss, tasting me-owning me, and the same instance, setting me free. This kiss was nothing like the one stolen a year ago. It blew it out of the water as a deep, nearly primitive rumble rose up from his chest.

Be With Me By J. Lynn Kindle Location 1383

I gotta say I really like Jase. There are times when I wanna shake him. But the man can kiss- and he does sweet like nobody's business.

Waiting on Wednesday (7) Forget Me Not

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Since her mother vanished nine years ago, Anamae and her father have shared a quiet life. But when Anamae discovers a brooch identical to her mother's favorite pendant, she unknowingly invites a slew of trouble into their world. When the brooch and the pendant are worn together they're no longer pretty pieces of jewelry -- they're part of a highly developed technology capable of cloaking the human form. Triggering the jewelry's power attracts the attention of a secret society determined to confiscate the device -- and silence everyone who is aware of its existence. Anamae knows too much, and now she's Enemy Number One.

She's forced to leave her father behind when she's taken in by a group determined to keep her safe. Here Anamae searches for answers about this hidden world. With her father kidnapped and her own life on the line, Anamae must decide if saving her dad is worth risking her new friends’ lives. No matter what she does, somebody is going to get hurt.

Fiction is Fact. Know the Truth.

Why am I waiting?

I will be honest here, this is one that I am waiting for based off of the cover. It looks interesting- yeah the blurb is okay and seems okay. But the cover is wide-eyed WOW.  It is a new author for me, so I do not have anything else to go off of.

"We only invited you to scare off anyone who might potentially want to become our friend anyway. Because honestly, the idea of adding someone else to our friendship mix when we have you is about as appealing as inviting the devil himself to play Russian roulette with the gun of his choice."

"Okay, so let's just say, for argument's sake, I'm a demon. Yay me. You're nothing short of upstanding for rushing over here to tell me you are the one responsible for my issue."

The first is being said by Wanda to Nina (one of her besties from the first three books).   The second teaser is so that you can get a look at Casey's sassiness.  This book has made me laugh out loud too many times to count.

He has a great body!

He was dressed only in jeans that sat low on his hips, giving me a good look at his lean physique.  His beautifully sculpted bare chest rose and fell in a slow, even rhythm.  He was on his guard all right, but he was in perfect control of every muscle, his body a potent weapon he could unleash the moment he perceived a threat.

He knows how to flirt!

"I don't mind a little biting now and then," he drawled.  "As long as it's n the right places."

He is willing to protect a damsel in distress!

"Seth has saved my life twice now."  I covered Seth's hand with mine, linking my fingers with his.  This time it was his turn to send a guarded glance my way.  "He protected me the night I arrived when a hellhound attacked me, and-"

And the best reason- he knows how to kiss!

The next thing I knew, his lips were on mine, demanding, devouring.  And I was kissing him back, my lips just as hungry as his.  I didn't know what the hell had come over me, but I was like an animal, moaning and writhing as his hands roamed my back, the curve of my hips, my ribs.

Oh Seth, the BIG BAD WOLF literally.  Except he isn't sooo bad if he loves you back.

"I'm good now. Honest. You can put me down."

He stopped in the parking lot. I expected him to lower me to my feet, be he held me close.

"That's the thing," he whispered into my hair, "I don't want to."

Both hands reached for me, cradling my face. His fingers curved onto my cheekbones, behind my ears, into my hair. His thumbs ran gently across the surface of my lips to their outer edges.

Waiting on Wednesday (6) Steadfast

Hey y'all, thanks so much for stopping by my WoW!

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Nadia, Mateo, and Verlaine have saved Captive's Sound from the dark Sorceress Elizabeth...or so they thought. Despite their best efforts, a crack opened and a new, greater evil seeped through. With Mateo as her Steadfast, Nadia's magic is magnified and she is more powerful than ever. But there is still so much she doesn't know about the craft, leaving her open and vulnerable to a darker magic...which has begun to call Nadia's name.

Why I am waiting?

I liked the first book in the series. Hopefully, the second book will be as good.

North Pole Reform School by Jaimie Admans Kindle Location 57

I'm in the North Pole, listening to an elf lecture an alcoholic about the threat of zombies, with a boy who things he's dead and a woman who thinks ducks are watching her. Things just can't get any weirder.

An interesting read- I can understand why someone named Mistletoe born on Christmas Eve may not like the holiday season so much.

Umm a duster… Need I say more?

Shoulder-length brown hair, tied back in a short ponytail.  Dark brown eyes.  A long brown coat- a duster, I thought it was called.

He can hold his own in a fight.

I mean, he’s all quiet and antisocial usually, but when he fights…wow.  If you think you are hurting now, you’re going to be dead when he’s done with you.

He knows how to kiss.

His lips moved to mine, gentle at first, and then hard and hungry.  His kiss consumed me.  His hands on m y arms slid down, down my lips, down to the edge of my dress.

In honor of the movie, opening this Friday how can I not pick Dimitri for my book boyfriend.  Throughout the series he is pretty darn hot.  But since the movie only concentrates on the first book.  That where I pulled his dreamy hotness from.
